Greetings to our Civic membership. I look at the neighborhood “Next Door” site a few times a week. I do it to keep up with info that I may not get from the Chronicle or other sources. Folks are looking for things like a dog groomer or a type of Doctor or just venting because they got double charged at a self check out at a cash register.
My favorite source of info is when I am out on service calls speaking to people from all over the country. I truly enjoy shooting the breeze with them.
I am hoping to keep interesting people and topics at our monthly meetings. We had a great guest speaker with Jarey Schlabach of Schlabach Security & Sound. He spoke about the options for home security cameras and some of the technical points that are to be considered. Systems can be set up to send alerts/video to your cell phones.
Jarey had a slide presentation along with the components for a total system installation. All systems are hard wired for reliability. Think of it as an insurance policy.
Our Halloween Trunk or Treat went very well with very creative trunk and tailgate displays, along with costumes. The adults and trick or treaters had a fun get together. Our PRPOA board approved funds for candy for a first time event. There was enough participation to do it again in 2023. Thank you to all the volunteers!
Please bring a neighbor or friend to our next meeting or even our Bingo/Dinner. The Civic Association is just one of the components that help to make Pine Ridge a great place to live.
